This year will be my third at The Photography Show at the NEC and I’m just as excited as I was for my first. As someone passionate about photography it doesn’t take much to get excited about it though. As beautiful as Cornwall is, there isn’t a decent camera store and there is a lot to be said for getting a ‘feel’ for gear.
Whilst I’m not in the market a new camera there have been some exciting releases in the last year. I’m looking forward to checking them out in the flesh. Nikon Z series, Canon R series, Panasonic S1, Fujifilm XT-30 just to name a few. It’s clear there has been a shift with mirrorless in the last 12 months and I’m keen to see what the fuss is about.
Then there are the talks from leading figures in the photography industry from every subject and interest you can imagine. If you’ve ever wondered if the ticket price is worth it I can certainly say yes!
Lastly though and probably the best bit for me is spending time with like minded people. I’m fortunate to travel up with a few club mates. There will be banter, gear talk and just generally having a good time. I might even bump into a few Twitter folk.
It will be a couple of packed days but if the chance arises I will try to capture some thoughts for the 2 days I’m there.
